Polka Dots With a Pop of Pink

Yesterday I attended my son's "moving up ceremony."  He'll be a high schooler this Fall, and I'm shocked at how quickly these last few years have flown by.

This is what I wore, and I have to admit I felt a tad bit overdressed.  Most folks were on the extremely casual to casual side. But oh well, I'd rather be overdressed than under-dressed.

I love skirts like these. They flatter my body type because they help balance out my lower half with my top.  This skirt is from Halogen, and I got it this past Fall.  It was several inches longer, but the length looked a little matronly to me, so I had it hemmed.  Find a tailor who does great work and s/he'll become your best friend.

Hot pink satchel from Coach. This color is what drew me to the bag.  If your wardrobe contains a lot of neutrals, this bag can work with many things.
Statement necklace and cold shoulder top from Express.
