Old Man Winter...

My last post featured some spring-like pieces, because I was lulled into a false sense of security by the few days of good weather that we had. Over the past few days, I've been jolted back into reality with the return of the colder temperatures.

Although I'm eager for warmer weather, lighter fabrics, and brighter hues, I'll look on the bright side because I can still get a few wears out of some of my favorite winter pieces.

I treated myself to these babies some months back. (similar version here)  I visited my hometown of Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn, and stopped by Minicentro Shoes.  They have such an interesting assortment of Italian leather shoes.  You don't have to worry about seeing too many folks with the same styles, because their selection is pretty unique.

I fell in love with these boots because:

1) They're stylish.

2) They're well-made.

3) The new leather smell on these babies was heavenly.

4) They fit really well around my legs.  In the past I've had a lot of trouble      finding tall/over-the-knee boots with the right fit.

5) They are shearling-lined. This is a perfect example how fashion meets    function.

6) They were 1/2 price on sale.

Look at all of that luxuriousness! :-)
The boots work well with my Coach Saddle Bag 23 cross-body bag from their 1941 collection.
I needed a cross-body that was not too big, but roomy enough for my essentials.  This is great for running around on the weekend.
I love Coach leather.  It's so durable and well-made.
I chose this color because it's pretty neutral and will complement a variety of things.  And the red trim is an interesting little detail.
I even got my initials monogrammed onto the front flap.

There's almost always something positive in a situation that may seem less than ideal.  You just have to look for it.

Thanks for stopping by. And as always, Be Fearless. Stay Fashionable. Have Fun!
