I Got A Chance to Talk Style and Trends on Live TV!

Last Tuesday, I had the opportunity to appear on "Your Best You," the weekly live streaming show of the amazing Barbara Gee. Barbara and I worked together, and she's a mentor and a friend. When it was time for Barb to embark on the next chapter of her journey, she followed her passion and started an image consulting and consignment business, called PositiveLee For You.

Barbara's most recent endeavor, "Your Best You," is a live streaming show that airs every Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. ET on radiovisionnetwork.com. Barbara and her guests discuss a range of topics to provide you with the tools and information you need to be your best you. I was honored to be invited to speak about style and trends.

It was an amazing experience. The show is a half-hour long and it flew by, especially since I was just sitting there chatting with a friend. If you missed the broadcast, you can check it out here.

The phenomenal Barbara Gee!

During the 2nd segment, we stood up to showcase our outfits. This WAS a show about fashion, after all...

As I was describing my outfit, I attempted to lift up my foot to show my shoes...As you can see, I wasn't totally successful.

Here's a closer look at the shoes:
I was wearing a Bebe bodysuit/blouse (old), a faux leather wrap belt from the now defunct, The Limited, and Zara pants. My shoes are from Nine West, but a few years old.

Barb is wearing a gorgeous Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dress and nude pumps.

Michelle Obama was also seen in Barb's dress.

Barb and I just scratched the surface, in discussing style and trends. We talked skinny jeans, rompers for men, cold shoulder tops, and more. I also showcased some of the outfits I've worn for work and play, and explained the rationale behind putting certain looks together.

These are a few items I've worn to the office.

A couple of outfits I've worn out to social events.
And my little "min" who also likes to dress up. Barb posed the question as to whether or not syle is in our DNA...I think I'm inclined to say yes!

Barb closed with the following quote: "Fashion is what you buy, style is what you do with it." I'm sure you're familiar with the quote. It's quite powerful!

Check out Barb this week on "Your Best You," and please visit me again soon.

Thank you for reading.
