I mentioned in a previous post that I was named one of Philadelphia's "Daily News Singles," along with 20+ other fit and fabulous women and men from the area. This past Wednesday, the Daily News Singles were introduced at a party at the beautiful Union Trust in Philly, and it was a spectacular event. The ambiance, the food, and the drinks were definitely on point, but you know I was particularly tuned in to the fashionable folks in the building. The dress code for the event was "fun and flirty" and the singles took that seriously. Definitely a fashionable bunch!
A group shot of some of the "singles"
I had a chance to catch up with a few of my fellow singles to get more details on their outfits and why they wore them.
This is the stunning Stephanie Humphrey. Stephanie channeled Coco Chanel, with an LBD, but definitely amped it up several notches. Stephanie puts in work at the gym, and look at her results! This Leith dress hugs her curves, and the deep V and spaghetti straps are balanced nicely by the midi length of the dress. Stephanie accessorized her look with nude Banana Republic sandals, an Apple watch, oversized CZ stud earrings, and a gorgeous red lip. #perfection
The ladies REALLY came through that night. NazAarah Sabree turned a lot of heads in this GORGEOUS "Lena"dress from Chic Bella, which matches her bold and beautiful personality perfectly. The color, the cut, the dramatic sleeves...what else can I really say? Naz paired the look with a pair of nude red bottoms, but it was her dress that stole the show.
And we can't forget about the fellas. Now I have to say that I love a well-dressed man. Check out Comedian Buck Wild and Tony Rome. They really put some effort into their ensembles, and I have to say that I appreciate it.
I don't have the deets on Buck Wild's look, but I will say, the few times that I've seen him, he has ALWAYS looked sharp. The white blazer is a standout piece, and every last detail was well thought-out, including the pocket square, the shades and the pinky ring.
Tony Rome stepped into the building looking like a bag of money. Shirt by Dsquared, pants by Paul Smith, Gucci shoes and shades, and belt by Hermes. Cartier watch, Cartier and David Yurman bracelets, and Versace cufflinks. Tony's goal was to have fun with his look, but also show off his well-toned physique. I think it's safe to say that Tony achieved his goal!
Jenice Armstrong was giving us all kinds of supermodel "statuesqueness" in this lovely black and white strapless number and strappy sandals. The dress has a great cut and length that showcases her toned arms and the perfect amount of leg. The thing I love most about her ensemble is the pop of color in her necklace. You know that I am ALL about black and white with a pop of color, and her turquoise multi-stand necklace was a gorgeous complement to her dress.
And what did The Fearless Fashionista wear? I wanted to bring a little drama that night, so of course I threw some tulle into the mix. (I know, shocking...) I shopped my closet and pulled out my Monique Lhuillier tulle overlay skirt, and layered a pair of silver sequins leggings underneath. Since the skirt and leggings were both standout pieces, I threw on a simple white tank from H&M. I pulled out my trusty ABS by Allen Scwartz dangling earrings and threw on a handful of silver bracelets on both arms. Jeffrey Campbell patent leather laceup boots completed the look.
