Knock (It) Off!

Have you seen the Saint Laurent Nikki boots? They're a funky pair of crystal encrusted OTK (over the knee) boots that embody luxe and opulence! And they can be yours for the low price of $10,000Take a peek:

These boots were first seen on the Paris runways in March during the Saint Laurent Fall 2017 show, and have since been spotted on various celebrities and notable personalities, including Rihanna.

I think they're gorgeous, but for $10K, no thanks. HOWEVER, I wouldn't be opposed to receiving them as a gift! :-)

So I was recently scrolling through my Instagram feed minding my business, and I saw a similar boot pop up in my feed. This boot is called "Crushing" by "style-stealer" Steve Madden.

You know - the same brand that copied the famous Manolo Blahnik Timberland-inspired boots that we saw on J-Lo in her Jenny from the Block video, and on Beyonce in the '03 Bonnie and Clyde video. I remember when I first saw those boots, I was sooooooo open. I've always been more of a high-heel girl, and although I've owned construction Timbs, the sleek streamlined version with the heel was definitely more my cup of tea. But I digress...

The Manolo Timbs were quite costly, and Steve Madden swooped in and made their lower cost version. Below is a picture of the Manolos. I couldn't find a picture of the Steve Madden boots, but they looked similar.
And do you remember the Manolo Blahnik Sedaraby d'orsay pumps that were stolen from Carrie Bradshaw in an episode of Sex and the City? Steve Madden also replicated those.

And more recently, Steve Madden introduced a sneaker that looks suspiciously similar to the Rihanna Fenty Puma Creeper...

Now, I'm more of an "original" kind of girl. I prefer the authentic version of things, and I if I can't afford the original, than I'll simply admire it from afar. I don't really do knockoffs...but I have to say that I'm kind of intrigued by the Steve Madden "Crushing" boots. Now they're less similar to the Saint Laurent boot than other copies that Steve Madden has done, but they're not bad. And they're (only) $299.95. I've only seen them in that picture that I've included above, so I'm interested in seeing them in person. I wonder if they look better when they're up close and personal.
