Weekend Recap

This past Saturday, I spent time with my family in New York. My younger cousin is going away to college, and we all got a chance to send her off with love, words of wisdom, and some things to make her transition to college a little easier. I wanted to be comfy, but still cute, so I decided to wear my “Everly Denim Look Harem Jumpsuit” from boohoo

I’ve purchased a few things from boohoo in the past, and the quality is decent. Their clothes are very affordable and boohoo was having a 60% off sale some weeks back, so the jumpsuit wound up costing $16.00. So even if I get to wear this jumpsuit only once, which won’t happen because I’ll be keeping this piece in rotation as long as it lasts, it will be well worth it. I’ve gone out to happy hours and have ordered drinks more expensive than this jumpsuit, so this purchase was a win for me.

I love the cut. It’s nice and flowy and forgiving. It was perfect for this family barbecue, because I knew there would be lots of good food, and I didn’t want to take any chances and wear something too restricting. And you know I can’t do spaghetti straps without any underlying support, so I layered a tank under the jumpsuit.

I wore my Nanette Lepore wedges from last year. Here’s a closer look at the shoes.

I did my usual stack of bracelets on both arms and wore a pair of oversized gold teardrop earrings.

On Sunday, I went out for a quick bite to eat with my sister. I shopped my closet and wore a sundress from last year, which I purchased from H&M. You can see how I styled it previously, here.

This time around I decided to accessorize with black, so I layered a black tank underneath, wore a black straw belt, and my laceup Schutz sandals from a few years ago.

I threw a colorful scarf on my head and did a quick wrap to add more interest to the ensemble and change up my look a little. I love the combination. My mother said I looked like Carmen Miranda.

I noticed that it’s starting to get dark a little earlier on the east coast, and summer will soon be coming to an end. I feel like I haven’t even worn my complete summer wardrobe yet, so I’ll have to figure out how to get some key looks into the mix.

Thank you for reading and please visit me again soon.
