Cream of the Crop

There are few things that I love more than when fashion meets function, and this gorgeous plush cropped jacket is the perfect intersection of both. Edge by Tanell is a line of fashion-forward outwear and accessories created by Tanell Davis, someone I’ve known for many years. Check out her designs. They’re fresh, edgy, and unique.

Read until the end to find out how I paid $0.00 for this luxurious piece!
Now I have a tendency to not follow the “less is more” mantra, and like to pile it on – whether it’s texture, jewelry, etc., and in this case, I wanted to amplify the texture in this ensemble. I paired the jacket with my textured furry skirt from Worth New York (a few years old) and my go-to faux leather peplum top, and threw a skinny belt around the waist for extra definition. Leather ankle boots completed the look.

The jacket is warm and cuddly – and the hood is that interesting little detail that takes the look over the top. Other benefits include the ability to machine wash the piece, and it’s cruelty-free. No harm to our furry little friends, so everybody wins.

I love luxury, and the appearance of luxury, so when I saw this beautiful cropped jacket (her name is “Crush”) I knew I had to get my hands on her.  I have to admit that I played the waiting game a little to see if there was any way I could catch a bargain, and sure enough my patience paid off because I was able to take advantage of a Cyber Week sale. Now, keep in mind, this IS holiday season, and although I shouldn’t be shopping for myself, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to add this piece to my wardrobe at a discounted price.

In the past, I struggled with credit card debt, which took many years to get out of. Having credit cards is really important, but only if they’re used in a responsible manner. I have a cashback card that allows me to earn a percentage back on all of my purchases, so I use this one card for just about everything – everyday purchases, utility bills, subscriptions, etc. I pay these obligations off as soon as they post to my account, so I’m not accumulating debt, but I AM accumulating cashback rewards. Now I recently made a fairly large purchase (which I paid off in real time) and that, along with my other everyday spending, provided me with enough points to pay for the cost of this jacket in its entirety. I simply opted for a statement credit for the amount of the jacket. YAY ME! The holiday season is just a little more cheery for me.

Enjoy this holiday season and be safe!
